MPES Distance Education: Admission to the Master of Physical Education and Sports distance education is currently ongoing for the academic session 2026. Students can register for this course in Mangalayan University, Subharti University, IMTS Institute and Dr. Preeti Global University. Registrations for MPES distance education program will be accepted till 31st May 2026*, so apply before the deadline. MPES distance education via distance mode is offered for 2 Years (4 semesters), though maximum periods may increase upto 3 to 4 years.

This program focuses on providing skill and knowledge of sport science, health education, and physical fitness. To be eligible, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any related field with a minimum 45% to 50% mark from a UGC approved university. Students will have to MPES distance education course fee of INR 15,000/- to INR 30,000/- per year. MPES Distance Education Course Details 

MPES stands for Master of Physical Education and Sports. It is a 2 year postgraduate degree course designed for working professionals and individuals who want to gain a degree or career in sports. MPES distance education is approved and recognised by the UGC-DEB and NCTE. The course curriculum will include theoretical knowledge of sports science and practical training and research methodology. Some of the key subjects will include Sports Biomechanics & Kinesiology, Sports Psychology & Sociology, statistics in sports research, and assessment tools in physical education. Through this program students will learn and develop skills about Sports Management & Curriculum Design, Athletic Care & Rehabilitation,Officiating and Coaching Lessons, etc.

Registration has already commenced for the MPES program in distance learning mode for the academic session 2026. Interested students can access the online registration form from the respective university website and submit it along with required documents. The one-time registration fee will vary between INR 1000/- to INR 3000/- (non-refundable). MPES distance education is available for the course length of 2 years, spread across 4 semesters. Only those applicants who have a bachelor degree in any related field will be eligible for admission. Selection will be either based on merits, or physical test or trial conducted by the chosen university. Final admission will be done after the verification of documents and payment of the program fee. Admission to the MPES program via distance mode will usually be merit based, or direct admission based on academic performance. However to get admission, students must have basic educational qualifications, and must meet with the following eligibility criteria: 

• Academic Qualification: Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in BPES/BPE/BSC in health or physical education or equivalent degree from a recognised university. 
• Minimum Mark: Must have secured a minimum 45% to 50% mark in the qualifying examination and most curiosity will provide 5% mark relaxation to the reserved category. 
• Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for MPES programs in distance mode. 
• Selection: Admission will be merit based, though some universities may conduct physical fitness tests or trials.

Admission to the Master of Physical Education and Sport distance education program at IMTS will be held online. No, as per UGC guidelines, Master of Physical Education and Sport program is not valid for distance learning mode as it requires in-person physical training. Hence students must obtain an MPES degree from a UGC approved university. Also, as per NCTE, regular mode is mandatory for teacher roles, so a degree obtained from a UGC-DEB approved university will be deemed valid for government and private jobs.
